The laboratory offers a wide range of tests for pathogens, organisms and indicator organisms using biochemical and molecular biological methods for the reliable qualitative and quantitative detection of microorganisms in environmental samples, e.g. water samples.

Chemical Analysis of Water:

• BOD Testing

It measures how much dissolved oxygen (DO) is consumed by microorganisms to decompose organic matter under aerobic conditions. 

• COD Testing

It measures how much DO is consumed by the chemical oxidation of organic matter under controlled conditions.

Virology laboratory

Virology (microbiology laboratory) is a laboratory established to the culturing, examination, and identification of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, yeasts and this laboratory performs isolation and identification of microbes and viruses using molecular biology methods.
