At a Kurdistan Institution Panel: Causes, Symptoms, Prevention, and Treatment of Liver Fluke Disease Explained

To raise health awareness and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis, and as part of the "Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research" (KISSSR) new program to address issues directly impacting citizens' daily lives, a panel discussion titled (Disease Identification, Age, and a Healthy Life) was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Experts discussed the latest prevention methods and the impact of early detection on life quality and longevity.

At the beginning of the event, Prof. Dr. Shwan Kamal Rashid, President of the Kurdistan Institution, delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the institution's strategic focus on the health sector and community welfare.

The panel featured three seminars:

 1-First Seminar: Presented by Prof. Dr. Nahla Mohammed Said, titled (Comprehensive Information on Liver Fluke).

 2-Second Seminar: Presented by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Omar Mohammed, titled (Human Fascioliasis: Clinical Characteristics, Diagnosis, and Treatment).

 3-Third Seminar: Presented by Dr. Rizgar Ali, titled (Main Causes of Fasciola Hepatica Infection in Sulaymaniyah).

The panel was moderated by Dr. Ali Talib Arif, a researcher at the institution. Throughout the sessions, detailed information was provided regarding the causes, symptoms, life cycle, prevention, and treatment of liver fluke disease. The event lasted over two hours and concluded with an interactive Q&A session and the presentation of letters of appreciation to the panelists by the Institution’s President.
