The Research Center of Strategic Studies is an interdisciplinary research center, which focuses on the study of conflict and peace strategies, often devoting special attention to the relationship between international politics, geostrategy, international diplomacy, international economics, and military power. In addition, subjects such as the role of intelligence, diplomacy, and international cooperation for security and defense are also in the scope of their studies. This center aims to combine the theoretical and practical expertise of leading academics and policy-makers to deliver the Kurdistan Region’s foremost strategic studies. It also aims to develop the analytical frameworks that KRG might need to tackle regional and global strategic and security challenges.
The Research Center of Strategic Studies has two main departments which are:

- Department of Administration, Economics, and Political Sciences
